Sarah’s website needed to communicate her sense of wonder at the natural landscapes around her. The best interpretation of these? Her artwork. The concept for the website was an art gallery wall. Clear and simple, letting her vibrant art stand out. The customer journey initially focuses site visitors on Sarah’s story, including her inspirations and history in the arts. Then visitors are then led to her expansive online shop. Here they can browse her full offering, from greetings cards, through prints and all the way up to large original artworks of her beloved Sussex Downs.

As Sarah has such a wide offering of different items we worked together to distil a clear strategy, grouping art prints by image and then allowing visitors to choose the print size once they had viewed the piece. We also worked together to develop a postage pricing system that is sensitive to the size of the items. This meant she was not out of pocket when large artworks were purchased and customers did not see big postage fees when they were purchasing just a small greetings card. Custom code was used throughout the site, for example, the category-specific heading in the shop page which serves to further educate customers about the items they are buying thus adding value to the pieces.

Branding

The branding for artist Sarah Duffield inspires curiosity and a feeling of invitation; Welcoming you to peruse this beautiful artwork. Not just an artist, Sarah also leads inclusive lessons sharing her insights with others where she encourages students to explore their creativity and find their own style.

This friendly, non-judgemental attitude is communicated through the warm and soothing colours. The flowing, handwritten font adds a feeling of personal connection where clean lines and modern body font keeps the site easy to navigate.
